Good peice of kit, large hard disk so will record all day every day for many weeks, very easy to set up, not as many fetures as the more expensive dvr's but the recordings are the same, set up to veiw remotely was a snap, did however require changing a few settings on my home router, you may need to enable port forwarding, for this you need to log into your router, your manual for your router should help with this, mostly all routers wont have this enabled by default, goto dvr menu and get the ip address and type this into your router at the port forwarding section, most uptodate routers should have this feature, if not remote veiwing may not be possible, cant find the app for android, but found the one for ipod and iphones, works like a champ, over all a great starter package for any home/property survailance, cameras work pretty well too, seem to be bright and clear pictures at night too.
remote veiw over internet via a pc requres you to have internet explorer, and you need to install the active x pluggin when you enter the remote veiw website, however please note, if you need to enable active x in the browser you will be best to turn it off again after use, i dont trust many websites that use activex controls, the monitoring website however is not an issue, many dvr veiwing sites will requre activex pluggin, simply because it needs unrestricted access to your router/network,
port forwarding basicaly lets the dvr act like a web server, the remote website acts as a reciver, activex on this instance acts like the controller signal as if you were infront of the dvr using the mouse or buttons, just an explination on whats involved with remote veiwing..
