After buying this a couple of weeks ago, finally installed it yesterday. Initial impressions are very good, in the past I have installed a camera or two so this was a good sign. The unit looks good and the cameras feel solid. Installing is rather easy and the on screen set up is really easy, and the menus are easy to understand.

I took a long time to fix the cameras as to make sure the house was all wired up nicely, as I didn’t want wires everywhere. So I placed the wires under the carpet, the only thing with the external cameras is that as they have a BNC connector you need to drill a 16mm hole to get the connector back in.

Motion detection is very good, and can programme a lot of settings in there, but if set to ‘sensitive’, will pick up flies as they fly past the camera up close.

After my 93 year old mother was taken to the Post Pffice to withdraw the £800 the villain wanted for cutting her ten foot hedge I decided enough was enough. The Securix CCTV system came with everything I needed apart from the cable clips to install four excellent cameras around her bungalow. The cables are long, the system booted and set up pretty much by itself and I am now watching the everyday comings and goings from 7 miles away. I can rewind and review and even see her on my iphone. Thanks Maplin for the reassurance this system brings to our family. p.s. The Post office said they didn't have that much money - a fib I expect - but good for Mum.

This is a great value package. Very easy to set up. Great being able to view my home on my iphone. DVR is virtually silent and is of solid build quality. The infra red features of the cameras are fantastic. Great images in total darkness. Buy one. You will not be disappointed.
