This product was relatively simple to install for someone with no existing knowledge of CCTV systems. However, once installed it is not very user friendly and if you wish to use the remote controller for operation there are some things tat you still need to plug in the mouse to do. The remote control signal interferes with the television so using a monitor would be better.

This CCTV. kit was easy to install and there was ample cabling to complete the job. It provides decent coverage to a private house and is easy to navigate/setup. I thought that the picture quality might be poor at this price and I really thought I would have a simple deterrent. How wrong I was. It is really good quality, despite no zoom facility. I would recommend it if you want a simple system that does the job.

i previously bought the cnm cctv 1 camera package and after having it for a week i couldnt stand it anymore so i did a 80 mile round trip and took it back.now then on to this beauty its got an English and easy to understand manual local rate telephone support but i doubt anyone would need it. Very very quiet dvr(not sure if it as a fan or not)yes its that quiet.2 cctv window stickers in which you need if you want the police to use as evidence if you catch any toe rags.i could go on for hours but trust me i love mine lol.and as for maplin ive got to say its a pleasure to do business with them superb service from start to finish i highly recommend i'm well impressed

I purchased this product..camera developed double vision after 48 hours, within a week another camera filled up with water...so much for outdoor waterproof cameras.

The DVR itself is very good and has proper english instructions, very easy to set up out of the box BUT be warned the cameras are awful, the picture is rubbish and the signal is full of noise (think old skool analogue with weak signal, grainy with lots of interference). The DVR box itself is very nice and quiet but seriously let down by rubbish cameras with poor angles and picture quality. Even the cheaper single camera units that Maplin sell (CNM Secure make) has better quality cameras. Seriously avoid and go for the cheaper CNM (loud fan noise) or more expensive units, Maplin service excellent as always. Single star due to the poor cameras.
