Is it possible to use a second reciver with this for multiroom viewing.

You could use this system in conjunction with a dual lnb and a second receiver but one receiver would control the dish alignment so the second receiver could only view the channels available on the same sattelite the main receiver is viewing.

What outputs does the receiver have?(RF, HDMI, scart, phono)

This has HDMI, SCART and Composite (Phono) outputs.

Is it possible to pick up foreign channels from English speaking Countries, like Australia, Canada, USA

Hi, I am attempting to upgrade my systems on a phased basis (financial constraints!!) and would like to know if HD satellite A54AH can be used with a non HD ready TV in the short term. Also can I use existing ducted basic co-axial cable to dish or do I have to upgrade.

Does this kit have every thing to connect and go?

you would require a length of satellite cable to run from the motor to the receiver such as our order code N37GL for example.

the reciever requires a 240v mains power connection I am afraid.

Does this have twin tuners so that you can watch one channel and record another?

Unfortunately this does not have a twin tuner.

Once you've got the dish set up will you ever have to physically move the dish into another position. For example if you have it set up in x deg in the east and you want to move it to y deg the west. Will the motor be able to any degrees turn, or would you have to go up on the roof and change the direction after a set revolution of turns?

No, this should be permenantly able to be moved via the motor.

Will the dish receive a signal through glass eg. a window?

No, it needs a clear line of sight to the sky (outdoors).

Can this dish and reciver receive channels from hotbird satelites aswell as the astra basicly satelites ranging from 0 degrees to 30 degrees east?? ie portuguese channels french and british

I have had this satellite dish set for about 6 months now. Once dish and reciever installed and set up, the satellite kit works really well, and this is the best purchase i have ever made, as i'm glued to TV since satellite kit been installed, watching different channels from different satellites.

I had problems with dish set up and had difficulty to find person who would install motorised satellite kits as Maplins offer only non-motorised dish set up services.

Heavy rain or gusty wind sometimes affects signal strength, but that's common for all dishes installed on the roof.

Overall i'm pleased with this product, and would advise anyone who wants more than the freesat channel range to purchase it.

This kit is easy to set up and works well. The dish is large and is best placed in the garden (heavy and catches the wind on a chimney) as long as you have a clear view to the South-East to pick up most European satellites. I mounted mine on a 5cm width pole, ensure it is plumb vertical. My dish was meant for a motor with upward spindle and I had to cut a tab off the dish mounting to allow it to fit on the SG2100 motor supplied with a downward spindle. The dish angle is 30-declination, not 45-declination as stated in the Maplin instructions, which assumes a STAB motor. The LNB needs a one-eighth turn anti-clockwise to get any signal. Start with the dish pointing due South and use the receiver to move to a satellite, before fine tuning by physically moving the dish, pole and LNB by small amounts. No signal meters required.
