Answer- Both questions are related. You can use DJ equipment etc and 4 way plug adapters etc as long you do not exceed the total wattage limit of the transformer (for example if you had a 100w transformer you could not exceed a total draw of 100w).

Answer- Unfortunately hair tongs do not function correctly of transformers like this I am afraid. These units do not adapt the frequency of the connection (i.e. 50-60 Hz and visa versa) which is usually required by hair tongs.
