This pair of mains-powered active speakers give a total maximum power of 60 watts (2 x 30 Wpmpo). Each speaker has two speaker drivers, a 100mm bass/mid and a 50mm diameter tweeter. They are ideally suited for use with personal CDs, MiniDisc players, PC multimedia, etc. The speakers feature volume and bass controls, a power on LED indicator and removable front grilles. Available in either cherry (QJ51F) or beech (L91AN).
Please note: These speakers are active, which means they don''t require a separate amplifier to power them.

I feel that they lack bottom end and sound rather flat but "you get what you pay for" I suppose.

These speakers, though low in price, deliver a fine midrange, natural and transparent. They are an old design, but are simply and solidly made. I am still astonished at how clear the sound can be from these at times, and they show the virtue of using paper cones and large magnets in loudspeaker design. They can be used as cheap alternatives to studio monitors for those wanting accurate sound monitoring on a budget. Try them and see. Heartily recommended.
