Frequently Asked Questions
Q- Is there a limit to the length of the RCA cable. I would like to install the TV approximatly 75 mtrs away from the PC.
- Terry Smith
Answer- The signal would be lost at that length. At most we would suggest 10m.
Q- it connects via usb and the monitor output of the computer and connects to a TV via Svideo or composite
If this connects to my monitor output how will i still be able to have my monitor in at the same time as seeing it on my tv
- moe
Answer- It has a loop through connector for this purpose.
Q- What is the difference between this and the other PC to TV unit you sell
- Don Pinchbeck
Answer- mainly just the manufacturer/design of the unit
Q- Do you stock a wireless version of this?
- Keith
Answer- Not currently unfortunately
Q- Hi,
would this converter be able to be powered by a USB power source like this one http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=115319 rather an a USB port from my macbook pro?
cheers stu...
- Stu Mcg
Answer- Yes the product does support that.
Q- Hi I have a laptop lan, USB & wireles networking I would like to connect it to my new tv which has lots of options inc HDMI, LAN socket can you suggest the best way to link these two. Ideally I would like to use it as a monitor & play dvd's
Thanks
warren
- Warren B
Answer- This product would work absolutely fine.
Q- Does this only convert video and games, or will it also show a Powerpoint presentation for instance?
- Mich
Answer- This converts the VGA output to a composite video connection so anything displayed on the screen technically will be displayed on the TV. Because this unit would be being used on a standard def TV you will find that fonts and some details will not appear as clearly as on a regular monitor though (which is why they are recommended for gaming and videos primarily).
Q- I have movies on my PC HDD that show on my widescreen monitor in widescreen, will the appear in widescreen format on my widfescreen tv? Thanks
- Glenn
Answer- If the resolution is set correctly, there should be no reason why not. Although, you may have the 'Letterbox' effect depending on the movies screen ratio.
Q- Will the device work with video material stored on a portable hard drive connected to the PC?
- Peter
Answer- Yes the product does support that.
Q- Can this product be connected to a video or dvd recorder from the pc
- Ray
Answer- Assuming the record devices have a composite AV input then we can think of no technical reason why not
