Q- my onboard soundcard has blew and no longer plays sound, if i install this soundcard, will it bypass the onboard card and play / record without problems?

Answer- you may still have to disable the onboard audio in your BIOS but this card would be a suitable replacement yes.
Q- After installing the card (and software), I have been trying to get a sound out of my DELL (Dimension 2000), but it wont play.
I am simply connecting two speakers (pink & green outputs)and all I can ear is far away noises.

Answer- You must disable your on board sound via the CMOS and make sure that the new soundcard is the default device through Control Panel > Sound

Answer- With SCMS bits being copy protection it is unlikely the unit would have the facility to circumvent or ignore said protection I am afraid
