Important Information for users with Windows XP Service Pack 2

We have had a number of reported cases where users using Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Internet Explorer 6) cannot log in. A common solution is to delete your cookies. This can be done using a number of ways:

    Deleting all your cookies
Click on 'Tools', 'Internet Options' and the 'Delete cookies' option. You should then close down the Internet Explorer browser, and open a new instance of Internet Explorer. Navigate to www.maplin.co.uk and try to log in again.

    Alternatively, try the following link

(this will also clear your basket)

    Deleting just the Maplin Cookie

This can be found in the following directory: "C:\Documents and Settings\[[your username]]\Cookies\"
The Maplin cookie should have a file name similar to  '[[your username]]@www.maplin.co[1].txt'

We believe this problem is related to XP Service Pack 2's stringent security measures (which seem to interfere with the log in process)
