Overall I'd have to say this is a good product especially for the price. Pros: Price. True multi-media - Plays SD card, USB stick, CD MP3s and has mini jack input to use from your own handheld MP3 player. Love the fact that it remembers where you left off listening after you turn off and back on again. Cons: Don't forget to buy an arial adapter if your arial plug is not the old type. Writing on the buttons is quite small so best to remember their multifunctions. Scrub forward and backward gives no sound, just silent, so you don't really know how far back or forward you are going until you release the button. Conclusion; Still a great little unit for the price The only thing missing for me is I would have loved if they included the ability to record MP3 onto the SD card or USB from the radiio. But you can't have everything eh :-)

I have recently installed this unit and, contrary to the comment posted above, it works exactly as expected, remembering channels, starting the playback from wherever it stopped. For the price paid (I bought a B-grade item so it was even cheaper!!!) I cannot fault this product.

It works. It sounds OK. The manual says 1GB is max limit for USB & SD - different from what's said here. The real problem for me though is that it 'forgets' EVERYTHING every time you turn the ignition off! You lose your radios station presets, where you were-mid track (it just starts from the first track on a device). So not friendly at all.

Moderator note: The unit does remember radio presets etc. This sounds to be related to a common issue with car wiring which is that in some cars the "swich-live" and "constant-live" are the opposite way around. A simple fix for this is to swap the yellow and red connections over (these are the switch and constant live connections).

Maplin technical support would have usually suggested this if contacted. It is is always recommended that customers contact Maplin technical support if they experience an issue with the unit or have a query regarding the unit as in many cases there is an easy answer/solution.

I just bought this and I'm happy enough so far. one niggle is the buttons (and markings on them) are tiny so you pretty much have to remember their additional functions when playing MP3s. The biggest disappointment though was that it uses an old style Arial socket. So instead of having it fully installed now, I have to wait for an adapter to be delivered (A35FL - http://www.maplin.co.uk/aerial-adaptor-98797) So if you have new style Arial lead you will need to ad this to your purchase if you are going to buy this unit. Needless to say I've not been able to check out the radio reception yet. All that aside it seems a nice enough unit. I like the fact the you can pause the mp3 playback and it has a mute button too (features missing from my previous unit - an expensive blaupunkt). And even though I was playing a CD with multiple folders and tracks, it remembered exactly where it left off when i turned it off and on again. - a good unit and worth the price - but check your Arial before you purchase or you'll have to pay for delivery on your Arial adapter.

What a great unit for only £50.I have installed this in my motorhome and the sound is great. It picks up many more stations than the standard radio did.

One note for others though: if it does not remember your stations you will need to switch over the red and yellow wires on the iso connector which is very easy to do.

I only have one slight negative and that is that it only seems to work if I have my ignition on. Would be good to listen without having to switch on the ignition.
