I have one of these items. It came bundled with the Raspberry Pi kit. I don't think it does supply 1A never mind 2A. I've tried charging my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 that need 1A and 2A respectively to charge at their usual speed. The Nexus 7 still wasn't fully charged after a full day connected. I checked the status of the charging on the device and it said is was charging via USB (500mA and below) not AC (above 500mA). The same result was seen on the Galaxy Nexus with it reporting USB charging.

I got this with my Raspberry Pi and I have found it very useful for a number of applications as a charger as well as a power supply. so I am gettinng a couple more. One word of caution though, if you are using it at higher current you must use shorter and/or heavy duty USB cables otherwise the cable drop will limit the current, as it is a very stable 5 volts at the charger.
