TV
When travelling we like to take as many of our home comforts with us as is possible. Ttaking a TV is no exception, you simply cannot miss that next soap episode or big match. You wouldn’t dream of loading the car with your home TV but you can make use of the great range of quality small and portable TVs available. They can be used to view standard terrestrial signals or digital; and providing you have a good signal, the quality is excellent.
The small TVs are great for long journeys and entertaining the kids, you can even connect them to another AV source such as a DVD player or camcorder.
Aerial
It is worth considering that whist you may pack a portable TV, depending on where you go, the reception may not be as we would hope. If you have a Freeview capable TV, then it would be a good idea to check the Freeview website to check the coverage in the area you are visiting, provided you know the postcode.
Whilst the aerial that usually accompanies a small TV is good, you may want to consider an external aerial. This can ensure that your reception is as good as possible under the circumstances and especially if you have access to a power source, an amplified version would be our recommendation.
Satellite
If you are taking a TV with you why not consider taking a portable satellite system. These are great compact units and can provide you with all the free to air satellite (non-subscription) channels you would expect. Everything is included including dish, LNB and receiver plus all the cabling. It is even stored in a robust storage case.
These small satellite kits are great for mobile homes or camper vans and will provide you with 100s of channels from music to lifestyle, documentaries to sport and films to kids TV.
