This PIR light switch has both practical and security applications. It is designed to replace a standard wall switch, and has a mounting depth of just 22mm, and is supplied with 2 patress screws for fixing. The unit comes fitted with two grey colour bars down the outside edges, and is also supplied with 2 white and 2 black colour bars that can be changed to match the interior of the area in which it is to be installed. The switch is fitted with a 2A time delay glass fuse, and replacement fuses are available in packs of ten only, Maplin Order Code GL62S. There are three settings to choose from using the selector switch on the front of the unit. “ON” and “OFF” settings operate the switch in the same way as a standard household light switch, whilst the “AUTO” setting will set the device to switch on the lights only if the PIR detector is activated. The light will then turn off automatically after the period of time set using the adjustable screw located under the switch, and this can be set to between 5 seconds and 6 minutes. Also located under the switch is the light sensitivity adjustable screw.
Please note: This unit is only suitable for use with ordinary incandescent and tungsten lighting, and is not suitable for use with energy saving, low voltage, halogen or fluorescent lighting. If in any doubt, please consult a qualified electrician.

Great as an energy saver, guess it would only be cost effective on a new installation or as a very long term investment - can it last many years? I don't know. Easy to install, though timing increments fiddly. Stylish looks. Does all it claims to do.
