Used this with a 40ah portable power pack in Northern Spain. It produced enough power to keep all the camping lamps and gadgets going

The specifications would suggest that this unit can drive 1.1 Amperes, but in practice this is not the case. In full British sunshine, a maximum of 800 milliAmperes can be driven through a flat battery.
On the other hand, 800mA. are still driven through a fairly highly charged battery (in bright sunlight).
Also, when set up semi-permanently outdoors, this unit will survive full British rainfall - but keep a series diode with the battery, just in case the panels develop an internal short-circuit!
