An infrared transmitter diode and a matching receiver photo-transistor in side looking packages, ideal for mounting at the edge of a PCB or where beam break detection or data coupling is required. Maximum forward current for the diode is 100mA continuous, 1A peak (300pps, 1uS pulse). Luminous intensity is 1.8mW at IF=50mA, with a 30 viewing angle. Phototransistor VCEO is 30 Volts, with a max dissipation of 100mW. Light IC = 20mA max and dark current is 100nA max, viewing angle 70 , rise/fall times=5uS @ RL=1K.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q- Will I be able to use this product as a receiver for a TV remote control and then as a transmitter for the IR signals too?
- Simon Singh
Answer- With the correctly designed circuitry yes.
Q- could we use this to detect door break-ins, as the transmitter would be sending a signal and receiver would receive but as soon as someone breaks the signal it triggers an alarm?
- Murtaza
Answer- Yes the product does support that.
Q- Could I create a usb transmitter/receiver for my PC with this?
- Anthony
Answer- No sorry this product does not support that.
Q- is this module suitable for a wheel encoder?
- Mike
Answer- With a encoding and decoding circuit.
Q- is this suitable as a infrared trigad switch
- dan
Answer- Yes the product does support that with assosiated circuitry.
Q- Can they be used by reflecting one back to the other?
- Terry Ford
Answer- Yes the product does support that.
Q- Can you use this product as a digital input on a PIC chip?
- Tom Brookes
