For a low cost security system; I believe that this is good value. However, I have a few comments:
1. I made the mistake of setting this up in my bedroom - but the device is too noisy to operate during night-time hours. I will have to move it to a different room
2. Every time I start the device it makes a number of 'unhealthy' scraping noises: I wonder if this is normal and not damaging the harddrive. Only time will tell - it has not yet refused to start. 3. I have not yet managed to get the colour quite right - green is currently a mauve colour: I still need to 'fiddle' a bit more to get it to a true colour.

Great value CCTV security kit, got a local alarm fitter to fit the camera's and hide wires to a professional standard. Expect to pay around £100 for professional fitting, all in all a great value system.

Q- Can the cameras be mounted upside down? - Chris

Answer- Yes the product does support that.

Q- Will i need a licence to use this or do i have to put up warning sign that cctv is in opperation in this area or inform any governing body etc? - colin

Answer- For private household use a licence etc is not required (if a camera is overlooking a neighbouring property it is recommended to get clearence with them prior to putting up a camera system though).

Q- N10GN- Can the fan be disabled on the DVR unit?. - Andy

Answer- No sorry the built in fan cant be disabled

Q- When I connect to my DVR System via a USB Cable and run DVR Viewer for the first time I receive the following error. No Vineyard Formatted Storage detected. - Hamish McLeod

Answer- The reason for this is that the Hard Drive within the unit needs to be formatted for use with the unit. To do this you must connect the DVR Unit to a Monitor or TV and use the remote control to setup the unit and format the Hard Drive. Once this is done DVR Viewer will be able to connect to the unit.

Q- Could I replace one of the cameras with another type for extended coverage? - S Gough

Answer- Yes the product does support that.

Q- Does this unit have ethernet capability or the ability to view in real time online. - Sean

Answer- No sorry this product does not have real time online viewing or an ethernet connection.

Answer- Any of our cameras will be fine.

Q- Are the camera's suitable for use in areas where a PIR movement detection alarm is installed - will the night vision camera feature lead to false alarm activation? - Ger Roe

Answer- Although it is unlikely there is the potential for IR interference from the night vision of the cameras.

Answer- Yes the product supports upto 750gb.

Q- As this system uses 12 volts, would it be possible to use this system in a vehicle powered off the cigarette lighter supply and would the cameras be good enough for using on the move if they were looking through the windows? - Michael
