Frequently Asked Questions
Q- Is this suitable for sleeving computer PSU cables
- Mark Watkins
Answer- Will shrink wrap almost any type of cable
Q- What colours does it come in?
- Chris
Answer- Black only.
Q- hi, is this safe for use on mains voltage cable and is it up to british standards for this ?
- gary
Answer- Yes the product does support that.
Q- in what lengths is this tubing sold?
-
Answer- This is supplied pre-cut in either 1m or 5m lengths.
Q- Is this heat shrink resistant to chemicals ? Specifically petrol ?
- Stephen Yeoman
Answer- No sorry this product does not support that.
Q- Do the different F sizes relate to the diameter of the heat shrink? e.g. F-15 = 1.5mm diameter when unshrunk?
- Liam Keeney
Answer- Yes that is the case. Click on the Spec tab for full sizing details.
Q- Will a hairdryer suffice to shrink the tubing?
- Jack
Answer- The shrink temperature is 90ºC. Normally a hot air heat gun is used. From experience, it is also possible to use the side of a soldering iron. It has been suggested that a hairdryer with at least 1800W rating, switched to its maximum setting might work but we haven't tested this.
Q- can this sleeving be used to protect barcoding and still be able to read barcoding through it
- vincent green
Answer- No sorry this product does not support that.
Q- Is this suitable for waterproofing electrics on a moped?
