The electronic swatter is charged by simply pushing and holding the button on the handle. Please note that this item provides best performance when used with standard 1.5V alkaline batteries, as 1.2V rechargeable batteries do not provide a high enough voltage to enable the swatter to work correctly.

Answer- this will not work with rechargeable batteries,battery life will depend on how often it is used so we can not quote a time period it will kill all insects that come into contact with it.
Q- what is the safety button described. do you have to press in to swat fly and then when releaased is the charge gone and safe to handle?
