For many, the choice between acoustic and electric guitar is quite a simple one (perhaps even simpler now that electro-acoustic guitars have become commonplace), but for others it may require a little thought. If you're not sure about what you want, or indeed whether you'll continue playing in future if you're new to playing, a cheaper model may be the best option.
Acoustic guitars can be great for amateurs as they do not require any additional equipment such as an amplifier. However, if you want more control over your sounds (or perhaps would quite like to be able to practice in silence) you may be better off investing in a budget electric guitar instead.
