I'm new to all this, but what I'm looking for is a solar power that will charge mobile, laptop and a small light for camping. Is everything in this pack all I will need? Let it catch the sun all day then plug in laptop etc and how many plugs can I use?

Asked by: Satchel
This would generate power, however you would also need a battery to store the power and a pure sinewave inverter to provide the mains level power for your devices. Which of these you need would depend on the maximum power draw you will need at any given time (usually measured in Watts), amount of time you think you will be using the devices each day and the length of time you will be camping, to ensure the battery has enough power to account for cloudy or dull days where the panel is not operating at peak efficiency.

Hi. I want to run a 12v motor from a 12v sealed lead acid battery. I also want to connect this solar panel to the battery keeping the battery topped up. If the battery is connected to solar panel, how do you connect to motor without connecting to solar?

Would this power a standard bulb and ipod and speakers for around 1 hour a day? Is there anything else that I would need to turn this into a solar power source to double plug socket?

Asked by: PWGill
You will need a means of storing the energy you create, typically a solar battery is used. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/12v-100ah-solar-battery-l35br you then use an inverter to power your standard 240v items a twin plug example would be as follows http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-12v-modified-sinewave-3000w-inverter-a13hq

I have a small motorhome. Would this be sufficient to trickle charge the 12v leisure battery during the day and keep it topped up if only a couple of light bulbs and TV was used for a couple of hours in the evening. No electric hookups where we are going.

Asked by: Trevor
Sorry but it's impossible for us to calculate this for you. The Panel will produce energy and trickle charge it back into your battery, the amount of energy it generates is described in the listing, however you would need to calculate how much energy you have removed from the battery with the devices you are using. If the amount of energy this panel generates is greater than the amount you took out, then the battery will remain on full charge, however if you are removing more than you put in the battery will eventually be exhausted.
