What is FRAM?
FRAM is a ferroelectric alternative to other types of RAM. This is faster than EEPROM flash, and unlike SRAM, it is non-volatile, meaning anything you write to it will save until you choose to delete it. Each byte can be written to 1013 (10,000,000,000) times. This module also has a very low power consumption.

How will FRAM benefit my project
This FRAM module is perfect for not having to keep inputting variables every time your project needs to be restarted and helps reduce the use of the microcontroller when sending out the same information. An example of this would be for use on a portable project and may need to be powered down on occasion, saving you having to keep inputting the Wi-Fi details every time. Also suitable for inconsistent power data logging.

Will I need a specific library?
To make the most out of this music maker shield you will requires the I2C FRAM library developed by Adafruit, available here.
