What can I see with this telescope?
Discover amazing images in the night sky with this Catadioptric telescope with computerised mount. You can get impressive views of the moon and planet as well as passing comets and far off nebulae. The NexStar 4SE is a powerful compact telescope, giving you a focal range of over 1.3m from a 0.33m long telescope. The NexStar has an iconic orange tube design and comes with one eyepiece with 53 times magnification. The telescope has a 102mm aperture size, multi-coated primary mirror and 212 times the light gathering ability as the human eye. This gives you a detailed, clear and bright image.

Why choose a Catadioptric telescope?
Catradioptic telescopes use both lenses and mirrors to create a powerful optical telescope. The light enters through a lens then hits a series of mirrors that reflect the light to the eye piece. The tube is closed, reducing image degrading air current. Catadioptric telescopes are compact and give you the best of both worlds using mirrors like a reflector and a sealed tube as a refractor does.

What mount does this telescope use?
Powered by eight AA batteries (not included), the GoTo mount can automatically locate celestial objects from its database and track them across the night sky. With a backlight LCD display you can see what you’re doing even in the dark. The telescope has a unique single fork arm design and the tripod breaks down into separate components for quick and convenient transportation. The telescope must be cooled down between indoor and outdoor use – a scope this size will take 30-40 minutes to cool down. The finderscope runs off a single CR2032 (included).

Can this telescope track?
Locate three bright objects in the night sky and the computerised telescope can orientate itself, calculating its own location, time and date. Pick an object you want to see from the telescope’s 40,000 object database and your telescope will find and track it across the sky, compensating for the earth’s rotation. Not sure what you want to see? The database can give you recommended objects with the Sky Tour function so you don’t miss a thing. This is a great camera for exploring the universe or to start astrophotography with your DSLR camera.
