Why use a servo?
Servos are used in robotics, hobbies and modelling applications where precision and control are needed. The Futaba S3003 is designed for use in radio controlled boats and cars but has a wide range of other possible uses. The set comes with multiple parts to customise the servo including arms, screws and grommets.

What can this servo do?
The Futaba S3003 can be driven by a PICAXE chip or other microcontroller system. With a 4.8V power supply, it would be ideal for use with Arduino or Raspberry Pi projects. The three wire system requires 5Vdc on the red wire, 0V on the black wire and a 3V to 5V pulse on the white wire between 0.75 and 2.25ms long every 18ms approx. The servo has rotation speeds of up to 0.23 sec/60° at max efficiency and 170 °of rotation. With its high torque of up to 4100gf.cm (gram-force cm), small size of just 40mm x 20mm x 37.3mm and light weight of 44.2g, this is a great addition to any project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from i use a 9V battery and a 5V voltage regulator to supply 5 volts to the motor and it's working ok for me so far. I use a pic microcontroller at 250kHz clock frequency in order to be able to set low frequency output (~55Hz) on the PWM module. using an oscilloscope i noticed huge voltage drops (above 2 volts) on the supply voltage when changing the duty cycle of the PWM so when the motor rotates. Added 1500uF capacitor to the voltage regulator output decreased the voltage drop below 1V. If the circuit is sensitive for voltage drops i.e. can reset the microcontroller, the motor should be supplied from a separate voltage source.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Servo Fried Instantly I bought this for use with my Arduino Controller, I hooked it up to a 6V battery pack (which a YouTube video said would be fine) and the servo started and then would not start again. Completely ruined. Wish I could give this five stars but.

What brand of motors are these

I'm looking for a motor to rotate the top half of a cake - max weight 2kg. It needs to rotate at about 15rpm or thereabouts. Will this motor be able to do the job?

I have tested it and can confirm that the red wire is +5V, the brown wire is the ground and the yellow is the PWM control.
