Could this be the helicopter for me?
Have your home act as your own personal airspace with this helicopter, which is perfect for beginners and experts alike. The helicopter can be controlled at a maximum distance of eight metres away from the controller and can be flown for approximately six to seven minutes on one charge. With a recharge time of only 35 minutes, you can get back to flying after a very short break. Alternatively you can use the controller to charge your helicopter, with the duration for a full charge being slightly longer at 45 minutes to 60 minutes.

A built-in gyroscope makes the helicopter stable, and with three channel flight controls (providing you with backwards, forwards, left, right, up and down movements), you get a really good platform to learn from. The two speed settings – low (normal) and high – let you customise the performance of the helicopter to suit your flight experience.

What kind of replacement parts do you stock?
An aerial collision or crash may cause various broken parts of the helicopter. Luckily, we have a spares replacement pack that has popular parts that can be used to fix numerous damages.

Helix Helicopter Spares Replacement Pack (Order Code: A94LQ) – includes upper and lower propellers, USB cable, tail rotor and a screw driver

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent :-) fly's really well and has good control. comes in a box that displays the toy off like a show piece. the remote is easy to use. The fly time between charges is long and changing time is short so it makes it more fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Helicopter This is a great little helicopter :) It looks great and flies brilliantly. The helicopter is very crash resistant- I have easily crashed it 20 times and no damage is done. I have found out that you really should wait 10 minutes after use before charging it again and 10 minutes after to save the battery. The battery leanght is around 15 minutes and takes around 15 minutes to charge which is expected for a little one. Brilliant! Buy one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not switch off after first flight ! I bought one of these for my son for Xmas 2015. We charged it up and gave it a try. Seemed to fly okay but when we came to switch it off it wouldn't. We were then left with a helicopter whose rotor blades wouldn't stop turning when it was switched on and when we tried to switch it off again the motor went to full power ! The only thing we could do was leave it until the battery went flat and take it back for a refund. Having looked at the other product reviews posted here we are not the only ones that have experienced this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't switch off!! Used ok. Put on charge and used again as soon as it was charged. Flew ok then a few seconds later top rotators slowed and bottom rotators stopped so was not strong enough to fly. When switching off the top rotators speed up. Let run till battery flat. This was a Christmas present so have no receipt so unlikely to get anything from Maplin. Ill take to local store and see. Seen someone else left a review with identical fault so this is clearly an issue with helicopter.

When the helicopter is switched off and I try to charge it the propellars start going really fast, if I then turn it on the lights come on and it lasts for about 1 minute. Rang helpline which were useless and passed be around and said it must be a fault.

I have not used my Helix GA-100 helicopter for some time and now I cannot get it to charge/operate. I have replaced the AA batteries in the controller. I suspect the 75mA Li-Po battery in the helicopter is dead. Is this replaceable and do you sell one?

Asked by: Andy
I'm afraid we don't have a spare battery for this only the spares pack below : http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/3ch-helix-helicopter-spares-replacement-pack-a94lq
