Rated 4 out of 5 by from I've tried several indoor aerials before and found them not much use at all. After looking on Maplins website decided on this one as the reviews looked good. It works terrific, and good value for money. Recommended. Looks really good too, better than the photo. It was bought as an FM radio aerial so haven't tried it for TV yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Value! I bought this for my second bedroom which has a very poor signal. Found this to be very effective in supplying an effective boost to a poor signal. Just a tip, you can boost the signal to much, so turning the booster down can be just as effective, especially on BBC 1/2. There is no instruction manual supplied so not sure what the spare aerial socket on back of unit is foras the aerial lead is hard wired into the unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I purchased the L57AF with a view to using it at two sites. Front Bedroom for my wife and kitchen by the window. The dwelling is a bungalow made of pseudo Cotswold stone concrete blocks with breeze block and brick internal walls. Signals from the local TV transmitter have to penetrate three walls for the front bedroom. The kitchen has a virtual clear line of site to the mast (approx. 40 miles) . In the bedroom I have been using two small 7 element indoor wideband yagis simply connected in parallel via a ‘2 in 1 out’ socket. The arrays obviously need a small degree of positional adjustment to obtain the correct distance to maintain wavefront phasing. This set up, although providing reasonable reception is improved by the addition of a Maplin Signal Amplifier. Normally reception is good but the set up is untidy. In the kitchen reception is fairly good with a single small 7 element yagi without any amplification sitting on top of the TV. For some reason, although freeview signals from the multiplexers for BBC and Sky emanate from the same mast azimuthal rotation is required from time to time to receive the other station. Both reception sites may experience problems during heavy rainstorms situated between the transmitter mast and my dwelling. I purchased the L57AFhoping that I could improve reception at both sites and tidy up the several wires cluttering the bedroom, in which case I would have purchased a second device. I regret to report that the device failed to produce any recognisable signal at either reception site within the house at any degree of amplification. Sadly a total waste of money. For information, my main television in the lounge is fed by a 20 element yagi situated in the loft. The television in the back sunroom is fed from a similar 20 element yagi at a height of about 12 feet on the extension roof. Both provide excellent reception.

How does it connect to the radio or existing single-wire aerial? I have a Sony CMTS20B Mini Hi-fi/CD player.

Asked by: phildex
Having consulted the user guide for your Hi-Fi http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4460924132.pdf I can say this aerial is not suitable for your system, unfortunately we do not have one that is suitable. This aerial attaches using a standard 75Ω 1m Coaxial Cable.

Hi will this device work on a dab/cd radio which only has a thin piece of wire ( factory fitted )coming out of the back of the unit

Asked by: Paul
I have a the same molex plug with a thin wire coming out of my Mini Hifi. It does not pick up any digital signal and I live near Cambridge. I contacted the manufacturer and they have ordered an adaptor for me so I can connect a signal booster. They make the Molex to F type adaptors in Japan but you may have to get your HiFi dealer to order it for you. They should do this free of charge as the product they sold does not function as it should.  I paid for a DAB radio and I expect it to work indoors. !!! WHen the adaptor arrives I will get one of these Signal boosters.
