Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a fantastic piece of tech, I love it! Takes a bit of getting use to as it is so accurate, but after 30 minutes I was there, Google Earth is awesome flying round the planet is so much fun. My kid brother loves the Flocking App it keeps him amused for hours, personally I really like the way you can browse through photos by just waving your hand. Cant stop playing Cut the Rope so much better than a touch screen...the only downside is it could do with more FREE apps...overall this is a must have gadget and I am excited to see what Apps will follow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very solid product. My kids are basically obsessed with the Leap and the Leap app store. Their favorite app is Google Earth (where they fly down streets and around buildings) but they also really like the music creation apps. I feel cool for giving them a piece of the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is very accurate and easy to use and configure. There are a few apps already on the leap motion 'Airspace' store (much like the apple store). As it is new, the apps themselves (which are the crux of this product) are a bit hit and miss and developers are learning but there are increasing numbers daily. Thankfully, this is a windows and Mac (i have a mac) based device and there is desktop mouse / function integration for free. There are many colourful sound and pattern apps. Early games are available. Integration into established software like aperture / itunes not available yet but windows corel users have an app. Currently a gimmick without the 'killer app' that will launch it but i'm sure it'll arrive. This is hands only free motion controller (unlike the kinect). The accuracy is superb and the device is small - oh yes, it can pick up both hands / fingers too. I love it already, waiting for a good use for me and what i do on my PC.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great ADDITIONAL input device This is a very impressive box of tricks indeed. The hand tracking is pretty good and there's a skeletal tracking update in the works that is gonna make it even better. I use mine for OS interaction mainly (with BetterTouchTool) and it's fantastic fun, as well as being a handy time saver in certain tasks. For instance you can launch applications, call Finder windows, close and open - all with a gesture. Also handy if you're watching a video with dinner and you don't wanna get your keyboard and mouse greasy - media playback control! There's a few games that I've had a go on, interesting way to interface but not really what I bought the machine for. You can also get a bit of software called GameWAVE (MacOS & Win) designed to let you control any game with the LEAP. If you have realistic expectations the LEAP is brilliant. It is an additional input that has great scope for customisation - with constant improvements via updates from the developers. It is most emphatically NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR MOUSE AND KEYBOARD. It will not unbork W8's GUI. It's a great fun way to control your computer and with a bit of work and setup a very useful extra interface. Plus it looks way cool throwing windows about your screen and invoking a bunch of stuff with hand waves ;)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you get this, you will be in for a hard time trying to get the thing to register your movements and applying them to the applicaiton in hand. Windows interation is an app that needs to be downloaded and doesn't work that well. Google Earth is annoying as the globe spins out of control and is unusable. The software will complain if the light source is not correct, if there is direct sunlight, if there is reflections on the sensor, pretty much in daylight.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice looking device with almost zero functionality, several apps crashed every time i tried to run them, impossiable to calibrate device using built in software. Nice in theory but completly useless, gave up and returned to store within a week, will wait a while until the tech improves

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I'm a sucker for gadgets (sadly), so having seen heard about this I'd give it a go. Well, what a disappointment, I watched the vids on youtube and to be honest, it just does not react like you would expect. Anything past 45 degrees and it looses the fingertips, it was supposed to react that anything past directly above it was a select/click, and anything behind (ie nearest to me) was navigating.... in reality I had about 2 inches of movement before it either lost my hand, or treated it as a click. As mentioned in another review, the google earth spins wildly out of control which is a real shame - the one feature/app I did like was the 'Here' Maps, where you fly a paper plane through a 3D city... but it is of limited use beyond novelty and showing off. In essence, I had a naпve expectation of some form of "Minority Report" controlling, sadly it's not quite there. The technology is a great step forward, but not quite refined enough and certainly not good enough to warrant the price tag just yet.
