Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never had a failure in years using RJ45 connectors from other sellers. Happened to be near a Maplins so bought them without thought. I have used and discarded 6 out of 10. The quality is poor and they do not crimp like previous ones I've bought. Cheap price and it tells.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly Manufactured. Avoid Bought a pack of ten of these because they did not have CAT6 connectors in store. They are manufactured horrifically. There is a space beside the first and last connector which means when crimping, the prongs can push the Cat Wire's out, meaning that you'll have either the first, last or both wires unconnected. There is no built in tab which means that you'll most certain have to use the cable guides supplied, however once you crimp them and miss they're pointless. I'll be taking these back to the store and getting my money back. 10/10 attempts to crimp failed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Out of the 10 only 2 of them actually crimped the cable correctly, the rest just bent trying to bind into the cable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from RJ45 stranded Core These are useless connectors as they have no grooves to guide the wires in and the connector does not crimp properly. bought two packs from Bootly branch of Maplin and can not see using any of them-Total waste of money...!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute pile of rubbish!!! I bought these as a matter of urgency! I've never had an RJ45 connection fail me in 15 years of making the ends off. Out of a pack of ten I used eight ends and not one tested out! I even used a multimeter on the two newly installed cables to test that all pairs were clear and they were. I will be returning the remaining ends for a full refund and waste of my time!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible, prongs don't pentrate strand, non-standard size? Out of the pack of ten, I made eight failed attempts to crimp these onto cable, then gave up. The prongs appear not to penetrate the strands effectively, there's no discernable 'click', and worst of all, they're slightly bigger than standard, and won't fit into normal ethernet ports without a real struggle. Not recommended at all

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Did the job for me Just made up my first ever network cable using these with some solid core cat5e cable using the A41QW crimping tool. These connectors are very light, but I crimped them both successfully first time and the cable works fine :-)

I have been using these connectors on solid core cable for years and have had no problems at all. Is there any other problems that I might come across with them then?
Asked by: Anonymous
I have also used these successfully on solid core cable many times, but the metal insulation-piercing parts are actually shaped differently for stranded and solid cores. We will be introducing RJ45s specifically designed for solid core cable shortly: Order Code N20CH.

Are these connectors CAT6 Compatible
Asked by: Anonymous
They are compatible in the sense that they will fit onto Cat 6 cable and sockets, but they are not up to the technical specifications of the current Category 6 requirements. We will be introducing Cat 6 RJ45s shortly: Order Code N19CH.

Besides the wire guides and the connector bodies, there are small clear plastic pieces shaped like miniature figures of 8. What are their purpose and how do I use them in assembling connectors? (This question relates to Cat 5e Network RJ45 connectors, pack of 10, code JT49D)
Asked by: Anonymous
you put the cables through the figure of 8 then into the main plug itself. This helps to secure the cable tightly in the plug

They are called cat5e network connectors. I thought RJ45 connectors worked on all catagorys of cable?
Asked by: Anonymous
Cat5e refers to the technical specification of the entirety of the cabling and connectors (and its ability to tranfer data). Cat 5, Cat5e and Cat 6 all use RJ45 type connectors but not all RJ45 connectors meet the necessary specification for a given category. These connectors are suitable for Cat5 and Cat5e only. Cat6 connectors will be available shortly: Order Code N19CH.
