Rated 1 out of 5 by from I got four of these free with a charger and bought another four 2000mAh batteries. Probably charged each four for my camera around 7-8 times, and now they wont charge any longer. Complete waste of money, and claiming they charge up to a 1000 times is disgusting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Got a bunch of these as my previous rechargeables were a few years old and starting to show their age as they weren't holding there charge. These new ones only seemed to last a couple of cycles before my (maplin branded) charger refused to charge them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from test the charger if i was you lot i test the charger if i was you lot are try to kick start them with a different charger the batteries are ok maplins chargers mmmm not saying what i think but it still depends on the charger .dont ditch the batteries ;)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I bought 16 of these batteries and a charger. Charged them all up and went to use them in a radio the first set lasted 5minutes. Tried the next set and they we're also dead! Not impressed its clear these batteries don't hold a charge. Disappointed that they are selling faulty batteries! I went into store and returned the whole lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Batteries great- esp in high useage toys I bought a pack of these 3 months ago because they had higher mAh then most AA batteries (unless you pay tonnes more) they are great. Last a good length of time in the various remote control cars the kids have (they normally eat batteries). Had slight issue with my maplin charger playing up only charging on one side- but the batteries are great. And charge fine in my more expensive older charger (don't use as often cos takes longer and only does AA &AAA hence why we have maplin charger to do C 9 volts. etc) Going to buy more tomorrow as need more batteries with the influx of Christmas toys!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I seem to have wasted my money! Made 3 purchases involving 16 of these batteries for use in hand-held game controllers. Found that they WOULD NOT FIT in the battery slot of the intended device. They are about 1mm wider than normal AA batteries and hence cannot be fitted. Also, one of the 8 being charges appears to have failed. Not a happy bunny considering these were bought as a present .....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Underpowered I bought these thinking they were 1.5V. They're not - they're 1.2V Having done some research, I now understand that 1.2V is the standard for rechargeables, but I do think the fact they're lesser voltage should be more prominently displayed.

How long do they take to charge?

Asked by: Nasher
As another poster has stated, the charge time of the cells would be dependent on the current and method used by the charger they are being charged in. However, here is a list of values that may help you determine how long your charger would take to charge them (it's current rating will be specified on the back "Output: (1.2v/2.4v)dc (xxxmA)", the 'xxx' bit is the charge current in miliamps. Charge times: 500mA 5.5hrs, 700mA 3.5hrs, 1000mA 2.5hrs, 1200mA 2.1hrs, 1500mA 1.7hrs, 2000mA and above is unsafe.

Do they come pre charged Is there any real difrence between these and the Duracell version

Asked by: Happy puffer
It is unlikely that these cells will come with any guaranteed pre-charge descent enough to run a high-drain device for a reasonable length of time. If you need batteries to be charged when taken out of the packet, then you need primary (non-rechargeable) alkaline cells, but if you want more runtime, stable voltages and don't mind waiting a few short hours for recharges, rechargeable cells are much better option.

Is a 2000mah charger compatible for 2400 AA batteries

Asked by: John
There is no such thing as a 2000mAh charger, mAh is a measure of capacity not current. If you mean that the charger charges at 2000mA (2A), then it would not be suitable for these batteries (nor any other AA/AAA rechargeables for that matter) as that would be about 0.86C for these cells, which is too high a rate. I recommend that you find an intelligent charger that allows you to select the charging current, and I would not charge these cells with any more than 1A (0.4C).
