Product details

MFA 4.5-15V Large 810:1 Single Ratio Motor Gearbox

• Large motor with integral gearbox
• Great for heavy duty industrial, hobby, modelling, R&D, and education use
• Operating voltage between 4.5V and 15V
• Gearbox ratio of 810:1
• Rotations per minute of up to 25
• Creates torque up to 6000 gf.cm
• Compact size to even fit some medium sized projects

What ratio is this motor gearbox?

This motor has an integrated gearbox with a ratio of 810:1 capable of torque up to 6000gf.cm (gram-force cm) at 12V. The motor gearbox has a rotary speed of up to 25 rotations per minute and can be used in either direction by changing the input polarity. Easy to mount with its 1mm thick plated steel mount the motor gearbox is 81mm (106mm including shaft) long by 47mm wide and 39mm high.

What can I use this motor gearbox for?

This is a powerful motor with an integral gearbox suitable for heavy-duty industrial or model applications. The motor is capable of high torque transfer through the gears. The built-in gearbox can increase your turning power (torque) at a reduced rotations per minute from the motor. The optimum ratio for this will depend on your project. Solidly constructed from steel and brass with sintered bronze bearings, a high quality three pole motor and a 5.98mm diameter central output shaft. This motor gearbox is ideal for DC 4.5-15V powered mechanisms with a wide range of application from industrial uses to modelling or hobbies or to demonstrate mechanical principles for educational kits.

I have been waiting for one of these motors to be delivered to my local Maplins store as there were none in stock. Is there a drawing available giving fixing hole centres so I can get on with my project whilst awaiting delivery?

Asked by: Levi B
The only datasheet we have covers the whole series of gearboxes, however there is a dimensions diagram on there which may be of use to you. The specific part number for this is 919D8101ME and the datasheet can be viewed from the following link; http://52.50.15.149/Downloads/datasheet-9979

Is this a permanent magnet motor or shunt/series wound. Do you sell shunt or series wound DC motors?

Asked by: CRHF
On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.
