It is suited to a wide range of applications such as coffee makers, water dispensers and tank monitoring systems.The PIC float switches are available in three versions, suited to water and dilute acids applications.

Please can you explain how this works? I have a basement that gradually floods and i have managed to create a sump. I now have a small pump which is capable of evacuating the build up, i now need a method of switching upon reaching a certain depth

This is a simple on off switch controlled by a float, If you are unsure of what you are doing with this I can only recommend you get advice from an electrician, we are not qualified electricians so are not able to provide design help, We can only give technical specifications for the items on our site.

If the water level rises above the level of the switch body, but not above the ends of the switch connecting wires, will there be a problem.

Large Float Switch N34 FU. If mounted vertically above the surface of the water in a tank, as the tank is emptied will the switch operate to control a 12v pump to refill & then cut out when the water level is back to normal.
