You can automatically make incremental and full backups of any computers connected to the same network as the NAS. Windows computers can use the Seagate NAS backup for backups. On the other hand Mac computers can use their Time Machine software for backups. You could also setup a range of RAID configurations (RAID 1, 5 and 10), which will simultaneously create replica files on multiple drives.
Individual drives are hot-swappable. This gives you the chance to replace or upgrade a drive without having to turn off the NAS and this applies to any USM portable drives that are used. A built-in USM slot at the front of the NAS drive allows you to transfer files to and from a USM compatible portable drive, and then you can remove the USM drive without having to worry about damage. Using a USM or a USB drive lets you create backups of any files stored on this Seagate Business Storage NAS drive, which can be initiated at a touch of a button. In the event of a disk failure you could lose important files, which will be saved and easily recoverable by taking these extra steps. Is there an app available?

You can also enable Global Access, granting access to the NAS drive from anywhere in the world if you already have access to it. It can also stream to DLNA certified devices that are connected to the same network as the NAS drive, so you can enjoy your media collection on a smart TV, game console and more. What other features are there?

Individual user accounts can be created, assigned folders with space limitations and be restricted access to other folders, which makes this great for small business. When managing files remotely, your NAS drive protects data-in-flight using SSL/TLS protocols, to ensure that your information will be kept away from prying eyes.
