Bought this as an alternative to a wired system when the thought of drilling through walls became too much to bear. I have attached it to the exterior of my garage and run the cable through the top corner of the garage door, connecting it to a power supply inside. The power cable is too short. It could do with being several feet longer - you'll need some sort of extension unless you are situating the camera very close to a power source. The setup was automatic and took no time at all. The receiver detected the camera and I was up and running. Connecting to the internet was also easy, and remote viewing works quite well. The negative points, aside from the short power cable for the camera, would be the somewhat buggy operating system on the tablet device (it's serviceable, but it does crash quite often and lacks some features, such as overwriting of old footage which means you have to format the SD card every now and again to clear it out) and the poor quality of the mobile app for remote viewing on smartphones and tablets. The camera quality is excellent during the day and better than I expected at night. The IR vision reaches quite far, and the camera itself is very solidly constructed from good-quality metals - no plastic at all. Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fairly basic, easy to install system.
Purchased the N93LK CCTV system, very poor quality image.. Can recognize anyone caught on the camera and the image is not smooth..so if you cant recognize the people shown whats the point ??.. will be seeking a full refund!
This camera is 'almost' very good, but there are a couple of drawbacks. Firstly it is over sensitive, even on the lower sensitivity setting. Too easily triggered by rain and spiders webs. This most happens at night when rain and webs are lit up by the IR LEDs and their movement triggers the camera. This means that you'll need a large SD card if you're not around to empty it. On a windy or wet night if you have a cob web over the camera lens it'll recorded every few minutes until it's day light - so could be a problem if you're away on holiday. It's also a pity that sound isn't recorded - not sure why they made it unable to do this as the live 'image' does include sound. The ability to see what's going on at home when you're away on your iPhone or iPad is a nice touch as is the e-mail alerts, but you will get a lot of these alerts if it's raining or spiders are around. One other irritation is that depending on what sort of car alarm system you have, it can activate the motion detector inside your car. Seems pretty random when it happens and usually I remember not to activate the motion detector in the car if it's parked near the camera. Usually it sets the car alarm off pretty soon after arming it so a bit annoying for the neighbours if you don't have your key fob handy. The morning it got set off at 5.00 am with the fob downstairs was not amusing!!
On the whole moderately happy with this product but there are a few issues, some that could be resolved in my opinion. Firstly the power cable just isn't long enough and i had to drill a large hole for the second camera through brickwork as someone else pointed out due to the pairing switch and transformer [wouldn't be so bad if you could remove the plug whilst pushing wire through a hole]. Second it doesn't record the actual time of any activity just the date. The sound is poor and i have just added a second camera and since then i'm getting no sound whatsoever!?, even when i put the sd card in my laptop to playback and save recordings. On the plus side it is easy to set up and use, the motion detection is good and i would give the picture quality probably 8/10 for daytime and 6/10 for nightime. On reflection considering i've never had a cctv system so don't know how this would compare to a wired product, i do wish i had bought the wired package at ?ú239 with two cameras included, it would have been cheaper and judging by the reviews, a better option.
Usually when you purchase something like this wireless they never seem to do the job,but once i had set this kit up which was very easy to do it all worked great with the added bonus of it having built in sound.Great product
Was advised to steer clear of this but it's fantastic. Very happy with my purchase.
Just what I needed - fitted yesterday. Picture good, easy to pick up view on my smartphone. SD card was missing and the manual does not say which type should be used. Tech adviser said camera antenna is not detachable- but it is, and I have, so antenna co-ax is now through the wall. Camera & LCD is 5 star but support falls short.
This product arrived in superb condition. The packaging was very secure. Once unpacked, it took longer to decide where to situate the camera than it took to put it all together and to get working. The quality of picture and sound is fantastic, ease of installation is great and overall it is a wonderful attribute to the home security.
Brilliant home cctv. Add on cameras easy to set up. Excellent.
As advertised and reviewed this is simple to set up. I was concerned about the range and quality of the picture before purchasing but this wasn't a problem at all... picture is excellent even 50 yards away through the whole house in the garden and another wireless security system and wifi don't interfere at all. The 'alarm' has nothing to do with the camera or video features. Love the internet access and ability to add extra cameras. Recomended to family and friends.
