Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for... Bought this microphone today as a temporary replacement for my Goldline, it has weird issues with the gear I have that's shown me significant shortfalls with my recording equipment. Long story short, if you want to use this microphone with a PC or laptop through chipset audio, set audio input to MONO (mark your channel, my netbook picks up through RIGHT only and my laptop uses the LEFT channel for both. Both are chipset HD sound) or you'll get white noise through one channel. Or, consider investing in a backplane sound card like a Soundblaster or an external one such as the iMic or Pinnacle, all of which actually *do* have proper stereo inputs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought this stereo mic for use with the Kodak Zi8 hand held video recorder, but the mic gave alot of hiss when recording the audio, regardless of what setting I used in the camera mic input gain. It may have been a impedance mis-match as this is 600ohms, and Ive heard the Sony ECMMS907 stereo mic gives a clear recording with the Zi8, which is rated at 1000ohms, though I havent tried this mic myself yet. The mic itself seemed well built and strong, and may be suitable for other basic stereo recording purposes, but dont think the stereo seperation was that great either, but what do you expect for a mic at the price. I returned the product for a 2-Way Microphone Stand Adaptor and just going to use proper mics for stereo recorings, and hope this gives me the results Im looking for. Im a musician though, so may be more critical than most with background noise, so this mic may work better with other video recorders, but certainly not the Kodak Zi8?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used this to record a stereo stream to my PC as all the PC mics I could fine that have a jack connector were mono. The results were OK for a mic at this price. Some of the USB ones may be better quality but this suited my needs fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from bought this as a first microphone to do podcasting and shout cast radio but there is an horrible hiss on the recordings from the microphone i wouldn't recommend getting this microphone unless you can cope with the hiss. Pros: 3.5mm jack connector free microphone stand good build quality no external power required Con: Hissing of recording quality of mic holder

Rated 4 out of 5 by from L92AA I bought this mic for doing YouTube videos and it works great. There was a slight hiss but after doing noise removal on Audacity it was brilliant

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I purchased this microphone to use with my minidisc recorder and it works very well indeed. Recommend getting a foam shield for outdoor use.

Would this mic be suitable for a camcorder,as the camcorder mic on the site is mono.
Asked by: Anonymous
this would depend on the camcorder (if the camcorder records stereo audio then it should be fine).

It is unlikely to work as the connection on this mic is stereo and the pre amp is two mono connections.
