With 300Mbps wireless N speeds, Range Extender button, miniature size and wall mounting design, extending a wireless network has never been easier. 300Mbps Range Extender
The TL-WA850RE is designed to conveniently extend the coverage and improve the signal strength of an existing wireless network to eliminate "dead zones", help users maintain an existing wireless network and vastly improve the network’s coverage. With 300Mbps wireless 802.11n speeds, it is ideal for smooth HD video, music streaming and online gaming.

Flexible Deployment
The device's miniature size and wall-mounted design make it easy to deploy and move flexibly. What's more, the TL-WA850RE's profile function remembers previously paired wireless networks, meaning there is no need to reset the device when changing the paired router.

Plug and Play
With no new wires or cables, within range of their existing wireless network, users can easily extend wireless coverage at a push of the WPS button on their router followed by the Range Extender button on the TL-WA850RE or vice versa. An additional push of the pair button can quickly establish an encrypted connection with client devices.

Ethernet Bridge
The TL-WA850RE's single Ethernet port allows the Extender to function as a wireless adapter to connect wired devices like Blu-ray® players, gaming consoles, DVRs and Internet TVs. At the same time, the device can share the wireless network as well.

Smart Signal Indicator Light
5 signal lights represent the current signal strength that TL-WA850RE receives from existing router, which can help to find the right location to place the range extender so that the TL-WA850RE can achieve the best possible range and performance of the network.

  • Keeps dropping with BT HomeHub 3

Very easy to set up and worked like a dream for an hour or so but then drops the connection. Keeps broadcasting with the same name as the main router and, as it has a powerful range, it prevented me receiving the BT wireless. Restarted it many times and even went back to 'factory settings' but same result. Went back to Maplin and they took it back no quibble. Now bought the BT version.

  • Easy to set up

I bought two of these unit one for my home on our virgin board band took less than 2 mins, and increase the range and was able to plug my TiVo box into it as well. The other unit I got was for our BT hub at work to increase the range in the factory which took longer as I had to plug the wire into it and do a manual setup as the hub was a old one and did not have the WPS button. I glad I did not read some of the other lower reviews as I found the video on YouTube was helpful. I have recommend this unit to work mates and family.

  • Works a treat - With BT Home Hub 3

Love this. Bought it because my hub is on one side of the house and I needed wifi in my gamesroom so I looked at wifi extenders and repeaters. After comparing it with many, I finally chose this one because Maplin dropped the price. I plugged it in next to my hub (As the instructions say) and waited until the light flashed and then I connected it by pressing the WPS button on my hub. Then I unplugged it and plugged it in somewhere I needed. 4 out of 5 bars on the extender and a very fast speed for my wireless devices. To save on space and wires, I have removed all the powerline adapters and gone completely wireless. Love it! And definitely recommend it!

  • Far far too confusing

This is probably the worst piece of electronics I've ever bought. I don't usually let things beat me but I give up. The auto set-up for non-secure wifi access is fine but my limited knowledge of technology suggests that I need to make it secure. Sadly, the instructions are impenetrable to all but very tech-savvy or manufacturers of TP-Link wifi extenders. I tried over and over to set it up in the different ways suggested. But it won't work.

  • Doesn't seem to work with Belkin routers

Bought this yesterday and tried several times to link it up with my Belkin N series Router - Didn't want to play at all, even when plugged in directly adjacent to the router. Tried also with direct cable connection. Unit sees my wireless network, but will not connect at all. Also tried with my older (Belkin 54G) router - still nothing.

  • Not working with BT Home Hub

Like other buyers I bought this to use with a Home Hub 2 and it simply will not work. I tried auto connect wirelessly and it will not connect. I tried connecting via Ethernet cable directly to the router as per instructions and it still will not work at all. So it looks as though it will have to go back. There does seem to be a compatability problem with BT Hubs.

  • Steer clear if you have a BT Homehub 4

Bought this in order to provide wifi coverage in the furthest rooms from my BT Homehub4 . To start with i placed the extender close to the router and tried the WPS pairing facility first which didn't take long and as far as i'm led to believe gets all the settings it needs from your router . After that i moved the router as instructed to a mains socket about halfway to where i wanted coverage . i was quite amazed how good the signal now was in areas where we previously had none at all . But unfortunately that was it as we couldn't get a web page or any apps to work on an ipod , android phone , or nexus tablet . I tried resetting the tp-link and tried all manner of setups as per instructions but still it would not work . The signal was there but no internet . i later found via some BT forums that a very large amount of people are having problems and this equipment has trouble with BThomehubs and there was a software update available which i promptly did . same problems occurred , web pages failed with "too many redirects" and various "DNS" errors . There are indeed workarounds which mean you have to log into the extender and make adjustments to the IP addresses in the settings etc but from what i can make out from the foriums is these reset if you turn the power off or have a power cut . I took this back and paid an extra £15 for a BT extender and it worked first time and still works after i switch it off every night . hope this helps

  • Had this in and working in under 5 mins. Just put in the wireless code into the configuration web page of the router you want to attach to and it connects and boosts. This one boosting a sky router. Now good signal in living room where previously we had to hold devices in the air or at a funny angle, you know what I mean! Note that you need to put it where there is a half decent signal already, more like a relay if you like to extend the range. Thought previously that netgear was better but this was just as simple, if not simpler (read the netgear booster reviews!).
