Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comments have covered the main aspects but I would also like to add that the range of this unit is excellent. I have plugged these into BT's Homehubs and areas which couldn't receive signals received the TP Link (units ID) without issues and good signal strength. Cannot recommend the product highly enough and am glad Maplin have finally got on board supplying the unit. I have previously ordered through other online suppliers and receive a product which is set up in chinese which wasn't straight forward to configure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought this about a week so that I can connect my windows 8 phone and my laptop to my wired network while out of my office. It works a treat. Easy to set up and quite powerful for it's size I now have wireless network throughout my site for very little outlay. Excellent value for money I highly recommend it to anyone who want's to add wireless access to their wired network.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Had an initial couple of problems with passwords - the password printed on the unit using part of the MAC address is wrong - the default password is simply "admin" - same as the default username. I then changed the password to my own 15 character one which was accepted. Then found could not log back in. Eventually had to do a hardware reset and finally discovered that the maximum length of a password is 14 characters. Really this is very poor programming and unusual for TP-LINK - the 15 character password should have been rejected rather than accepted and then subsequently failed on next login. After this initial hiatus everything went very well. I set the device up in AP mode and found that I could hide the SSID broadcast, use WPA2-PSK security and set up a MAC address filtering list via the easy to follow menus. I also liked the fact that the radiated wireless power can be adjusted - I just wanted to cover one room and the Low setting does that nicely with very little signal outside that room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantasticly easy way to get wifi in places where there is only an ethernet cable available and a modern traveller needs a laptop, smartphone and tablet to connect. Default operation: 1. plug in the ethernet cable first. 2. then plug in the power. As the gadget boots it will start behaving like an access point. It can be powered from the USB of a laptop. The router can also be used in other ways (repeater, bridge etc.), but that is not what I use it for. I always bring it to hotels and on a recent family visit I found that plugging the router into the hosts homhub for ethernet an power (USB) my wife and kids' smartphones etc, could simply all work during our stay. I did not need to revconfigure all wireless setting etc. It just worked. Advantages: Easy to use, Good Value. Straight out of the box you can connect to any RJ45 ethernet and any USB power and you are up and running. Disadvantages: None.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product! I have used it as an "Access Point" while travelling abroad. Now at home, I am using it in "Client Mode" and connected it to my Smart TV's Ethernet port (As my TV is a non WIFI model). Now my TV in my bedroom is connected to my broadband router which is in my living-room wireless. I can watch "Youtube in HD" without any problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for XBOX Excellent little device, I'm using this as a wireless adapter for my XBOX, and will use next time I'm on holiday, where they charge per device. Setting up for the xbox was easy by using the setup guide, once connected to a computer the quick setup option made setup even easier (client mode)

This is just a router that will give a WiFi connection from an internet connection, the ISP plan still needs to be in place for it to work.
