Ubiquiti UAP-AC Indoor Dual Band Access Point
• RJ45 connection allows you to connect your access point directly to your router
• Up to 1750Mbps bandwidth allows for connection to multiple wireless devices
• Simultaneous 450Mbps 2.4GHz and 1300Mbps 5Ghz frequencies allow optimisation for your wireless network
• One of the Gigabit Ethernet ports connects directly to your router, whilst the other acts as a bridge
• UniFi Controller allows you to configure your wireless networkWhat can I expect from this access point?
The Ubiquiti UAP-AC indoor, dual band access point connects to your home or small office network modem or router. This provides all of your Wi-Fi enabled devices with access to a wireless network. You can also use the access point in conjunction with a Wi-Fi router to allow for maximum coverage of your wireless network. An included POE injector allows for optimal placement of the access point, as the device is passively powered via POE (Power Over Ethernet). This means multiple access points can be used across a single network.
What wireless signal can I expect from this access point?
Internal antenna provide your network with 450Mbps running at 2.4GHz, and 1300Mbps at 5GHz. This provides you with an optimised wireless network that allows heavy wireless network applications to be transmitted across the faster 5GHz band. This makes wireless streaming of high definition media or the transfer of large files possible.
What makes an access point better than a range extender?
You can achieve a stable connection with faster Wi-Fi speeds and no signal degradation, simply by providing a direct cable connection to your router from your access point> This will improve your wireless connection.
What is the UniFi Controller software?
The free UniFi controller software gives you the ability to monitor and control thousands of UniFi access points (APs) in one place. This means you don’t have to use a system to control multiple APs separately. The software can be installed on any PC, Mac or Linux machine within the network. Once installed, it can be accessed via a web browser. A zero handoff roaming feature grants users the ability to seamlessly move between their nearest UniFi APs and still be connected to the same wireless network.
To help with the monitoring of different APs, you can view a visual representation of your wireless network on a map of your site. You can upload this yourself or see it through Google Maps. The software supports guest portals in which different bandwidth rates, limitations on total data usage and the duration of use can be implemented.
