Ubiquiti UAP-AC OUTDOOR Dual Band Wireless Access Point
• Powered RJ45 passive POE port allows for optimal placement of your access point
• Up to 1750Mbps bandwidth allows for multiple wireless users
• 2.4GHz 450Mbps and 5GHz 1300Mbps provide you with an optimised wireless network, as bandwidth- intensive applications are prioritised to the faster 5GHz band
• One of the Gigabit Ethernet ports connects directly to your router, whilst the other acts as a bridgeWhat can I expect from this outdoor access point?
Once the included POE injector is connected to your router and the access point, you are provided with a dual band wireless signal that can be used to connect to a network. This device operates outside, allowing buildings to share a single Wi-Fi network. The POE functionality enables you to optimally position the access point for maximum performance.
What wireless speed can I achieve with this router?
The internal dual band antenna provides your wireless network with a 450Mbps 2.4GHz for all your wireless, day to day network tasks like browsing the web from a portable device or checking your emails. A 5GHz 1300Mbps band is also provided to allow network intensive tasks such as VIOP calls, HD media streaming or wireless gaming.
What makes an access point better than a range extender?
By providing a direct cable connection from your access point to your router, you can achieve a stable connection with faster Wi-Fi speeds with no signal degradation, thereby improving your wireless connection.
What is the UniFi Controller software?
Instead of having a system that controls multiple access points (APs) separately, the free UniFi controller software gives you the ability to monitor and control thousands of UniFi APs in one place. The software can be installed on any PC, Mac or Linux machine within the network and, once installed, can be accessed via a web browser. A zero handoff roaming feature grants users the ability to seamlessly move between their nearest UniFi APs and still be connected to the same wireless network.
To help with the monitoring of different APs, you can view a visual representation of your wireless network on a map of your site. You can either upload this yourself or use Google Maps. The software supports guest portals in which different bandwidth rates, limitations on total data usage and the duration of use can be implemente
