Reasons pick the Makeblock IR Robot Kit – Powered by Arduino
The Makeblock IR Robot Kit, being powered by Arduino means it runs on an Arduino clone board called the Makeblock Orion, using Arduino programming. Over the course of building the Makeblock IR Robot Kit, you will come to understand how the basics of robotics work, and understand how the mechanical elements work with the robotics and programming elements.

The best bit about the Makeblock IR Robot kit is that there is no soldering required, meaning stress free assembly. You can choose to adapt or add to the design you can by rearranging the mechanical pieces, removing or adding any of the electronics, and truly make it your own.

Connections and expansions
You can add more to the electronics of the Arduino clone board by utilising its RJ25 connections, these connections act as digital I/O, some with PWM. The body of the robot itself can be adapted or added upon using Lego pieces.

What will you make?
The Makeblock IR Robot Kit is the first piece of the puzzle, once you’ve built and mastered the kit, you don’t need to replace it, and you can just add to it, using the Arduino clone at the heart of the Robot kit you can also design your own robots. Adding a servo could help you make a mechanical grabbing arm.

The kit contains many pieces which are completely optional, should you choose to use them or not. With the following electronic modules: Me Orion, and an Ultrasonic sensor, you can build an obstacle-avoiding robot; replace the Ultrasonic sensor with an IR receiver, then use it with the IR remote controller to make your own IR controlled robot.

Ease of use
The team at Makeblock, when designing the IR Robot Kit, had three ideals in mind, for it to be easy, intuitive, and fun to use. With the vast range of guides and tutorials, you will be able to construct and modify your Makeblock IR Robot kit with ease.
