A good quality product which is value for money. The unit being currently on a special offer is even better, if you want to purchase a SAD lamp then now is the time. There are many reviews about the SAD principle which are worth reading if you are not convinced that this is for you. Like most of these 'this will work for you' sales pitches you will need to use it regularly to see the benefit of the daylight lamp. This is not an overnight cure by a long chalk. There are many other SAD lamps which are more expensive but I do not think they are worth the initial investment until you are certain the SAD lamp will work for you. It is also a good light source if you just want to read a book, far better than the standard reading lamps.

I bought one of these in October after seeing the low price on this site. I've suffered from SAD since I was a teenager but the very high prices of light boxes always put me off buying one, in case it didn't work. However, I'm extremely pleased with the result. Although the box gave me a bit of a headache the first few times I used it (it's very, very bright!) I continued using it for between an hour and 2 hours a day after the sun went down in the evening, and after about 10 days started noticing a difference. I find it easier to get out of bed, I'm much less tired during the day, my sleep patterns aren't as disturbed as they were, I'm smiling a lot more and I'm much more bearable company! I sometimes even put the light box on in the corner of the room if it's very dark outside during the day, and it makes a great light to work/read under as it's so bright. A fantastic price for a fantastic item, I'd recommend it to anyone who thinks they might be suffering from SAD - thank you Maplin!

This product is great I have SAD and find it very helpful it gives me back the energy i need during these dark gloomy days love it :) i recommend anyone with SAD and on a low income buy this it works perfectly
