This unit(Fine Offset is the brand name) has a world wide following. It is easy to set up but needs the rain recorder to be positioned in a stable position and not on the pole as shown, It seems to be quite accurate.

The software supplied works well but there is better software free on the web (such as sandysoft) there are also sites that have a bullitin board where everything about the unit is discussed and modifications are suggested.

Its only drawback is the rather dim lcd display, but as it is mostly used with a computer readout, this is not to much of a problem.

There are two versions around, they are WH1080 and WH1081, one has a radio controlled clock the other hasn't.

Overall I'm pleased with it.

This unit is a fantastic piece of equipment. Very easy to set up, even if it is rather long winded (excuse the pun). Over the past year I have been using an LED Max/Min thermometer located on a conservatory window, this is as you would expect was influenced by the conservatory temperature, making it difficult to get accurate readings. Hence the decision to change to this unit. The software that was recommended (Cumulus) is very very good, and also very easy to set up. With this loaded you get a quicker and more up to date data delivery. I would recommend this unit to anyone especially at it present price.

I bought this unit in order to help me teach my kids about the weather. Very easy to set up, took about 15 mins. Only thing was i found i had an awful lot of excess on the connecting cables but better to have to much than too little. Will try both lots of software and see what i like best. Overall, buy this one at the price its a steal.
