I bought one of these about 4 years ago. I was considering the Davis Vantage Pro system, but here in the UK it's very expensive (over twice the price of this). I have been able to use the Davis Vantage Pro system elsewhere for over 2 years, so know it well for comparison. The WMR200 comes in a fairly large box, inevitably, but the sensor package was relatively easy to setup - for anyone that can wield a screwdriver and follow basic instructions. The LCD touchscreen unit feels well built, similar to the Davis Vantage Pro, and I had no issues connecting to the Weather Display Basic software that was bundled with it. Oregon Scientific have subsequently released their own software, which looks pretty but is AWFUL. Weather Display (whether Basic or not) is not the prettiest program but it's functional. Arguably it's overly complex though for someone who is either not au fait with software, or who doesn't want a lot of bells and whistles. I don't like that the rain sensor is separate, and just sits on the floor (or wherever you decide to put it). The likes of Davis (and the Vantage Pro) have a rain sensor as part of the temperature module, which makes a lot more sense and keeps the package all in one place. The only real fault, and a design fault at that, with the sensor package is the temperature module. In sunny conditions the temperature does not truly reflect air temperature, and can be several degrees celsius above what it should be. Again, the module for the Davis Vantage Pro system is much larger and better built, and much more accurate. I have tried shielding the temperature module with foil, but this has not helped (perhaps it just turns it into a jacket potato!). When considering purchasing a weather station it's worth thinking hard about where you can mount the sensor package. If you don't have a great place in your garden, or elsewhere, then think again - otherwise you will just get poor data. After 2 years the rain gauge failed, and then over the following year all the other sensors began to fail. At around 3 years all the external sensors were dead. I decided to buy the Davis Vantage Vue as a replacement, which is a similar priced but far superior system so far.
