Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice price (on promotion at ???64.99) and by ordering another product, took the order up to over the voucher threshold, so a nice ???7.00 voucher discount off the total price. Small, compact, works well. Glad to see mains lead and output leads are included. As another reviewer has said, it does present a load of 600 Ohms or so when switched off, so be careful when charging batteries as you don't want to discharge them inadvertantly. A solution would be to add an external (or internal, if I can get the case off) Power MOSFET in the supply, connected as a Diode. STP36-NF06L does the job and drops just 2.5mV, a much better solution than a reasonable Shottky Diode (like 1N581) at 0.2V! Niggles, that's all. Voltage adjustment a bit slow and fiddley as the display takes a few seconds to settle down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These units certainly look the part and take up a small bench surface footprint. Two fit side by side very well. It would be better if they course and fine voltage and current controls so they could be set more easily to within one tenth of a volt or a fraction of an amp. The two units I bought are only two serial numbers apart but the LEDs that illuminate the screen have noticably different brightness which spoils their look when both are on side by side. Each comes with 1m long black and red connecting leads with insulated crock clips on one end and banana plugs on the other. They also have a 2m mains lead. The mains ON/OFF switch is on the back panel and a steel tab with a 6mm hole is provided so they can be secured to the bench in locations where they may be stolen. I got mine in the January Sale 2011 which was a real bonus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a great little power supply with wide ranges and clear indication. The display is backlit and enables the user to set the values without the unit outputting. However, it cannot supply below 1 volt. It has an easily accessible power switch on the back and includes a carry handle. All in all, a very accurate and quality product, but could be designed a bit better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use the power supply for various home projects, it works very well, no problems so far. The current limiter is a very usefull feature it saves things being "cooked" if you get your wiring wrong. Also great for charging nicads or nimh batterys.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I use the unit for examining behaviour of circuits under varying supply voltages : so I want to set an accurate voltage. This unit is rather coarse for doing that i.e. setting 7.5v as opposed to 7.3 or 7.6. The same comment holds for current setting. I think it represents fair value when on offe. In all other respects the kit is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use this equipment for running 'O' gauge model railways - some of them 'vintage' Hornby which require 20v AC. The unit copes well and has never let me down - others with similar interests use them very successfully. The unit lets us know if someone is running a 'rogue' item drawing more current than it should! Good value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent piece of kit - I use it as a power supply for 'O' gauge vintage electric trains!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is absolutely top notch; a beautifully compact, and functional, bench power supply.

I'm looking for a split rail power supply for some op amp projects. Do I get half the displayed voltage, symmetrically, either side of ground?  Is a 'ground' lead supplied?

My model, serial number G350701066, a few years old now won't go above 12.4 volts. A load (a 12v, 5w bulb) works with both variable V (up to 12.4v) and I. Any suggestions?  If there's a circuit diagram, that would probably help me. Many thanks
