A 230Vac mains axial fan for cooling, extraction, intake, ventilation, etc. The fan features an impedance protected shaded-pole motor with a sintered iron sleeve bearing. The frame is diecast aluminium with a steel impeller, finished in black epoxy paint. The fan has a hole in the chassis (for self-tapper M4) for earth connection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dies within a few weeks I've purchased 3 of these fans in total, one died within 8 months and the other 2 within weeks. Do not buy this product if you are looking for something to last!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does the job On return from vacation, the deep freeze air fan in our 46 year old duplex had failed. This did a perfect job and we lost no food.

im a bit slow electrically!! is this correct: i buy this fan, stick plug in socket and hey presto it works?
Asked by: peter griffin
PLEASE be careful, people! Thus is not intended as a super cooler for gaming pc's. It runs on mains voltage, it is metal with metal fins and it spins fast! It needs finger shield and electrically insulated and earthed. THIS FAN IS PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF REMOVING A FINGER.

Which is the positive wire and which the negative as there is no markings for either?
Asked by: Matt
There is no positive or negative- it is an 230 volt AC (alternating current) fan. Live, neutral and earth connection. Live and neutral can be switched over without problems.

what type of power lead do you need to use this fan?

Asked by: david
These are bare wire so it would be down to you how you would wire them, but as they are mains voltage we would advise if you are at all unsure to consult a qualified electrician.

Can this be wired to a plug and used off the mains 240 power

Asked by: david
This would be suitable for connecting to UK mains voltage, however we couldn't advise on the specific modifications needed to wire this to an external socket.
