Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Recognised on HP Laptop Bought this today, Was told multiple times it would work even showed them the laptop. Went to use it, the laptop wont log in with it plugged in just stays on a black screen with Hp logo so had to plug it out and log in. Then realised the Keyboard doesn't work with it plugged in. Might suit other equipment but certainly not HP. In fairness it does charge but you can't work on the laptop at the same time. Very pricey, if your looking for a charger for everyday use this is not the one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, charges quickly. I bought this for an Asus K55 laptop. This model was not listed as supported on the back of the box however after checking the connector size and voltage it does work with the 19V 'P' connector. The pins were bent out of shape in the back of the connector so it would not fit into the adapter, however I was able to straighten them and now it is fine. It quickly charges the laptop without any issues and for this part works as well as the original. The USB port also works well and is a nice feature as it saves me carrying an additional USB adapter for my phone when away from home. Only downsides are the connector looks a bit bulky when plugged into the laptop and while it does fit in securely, it can be pulled out a bit too easily. However, my laptop is not officially supported so I can't really complain about this. Also, the device itself is fairly bulky, but that is to be expected with a 120W power supply.

Does anyone know if this would be compatible with an Acer Apsire 6920G laptop? It says on the label that it requires 19 volts at 4.74 amps.

Asked by: James_C
Yes - it should be fine! The current rating of the PSU is the maximum, so as long as the polarity and voltage are correct, then using a PSU with a higher current rating than the laptop will draw should be fine.

Does this item include a 6.4x4mm plug? I want to replace a Sony TV power supply which is 19.5V DC 5.2A. By my reconning that's 101.4W ans so this should do the job if it has the correct output plug.

Asked by: SonyOwner
Unfortunately this is not meant to be used on TV's. You would need to contact the TV manufacturer to get a correct power supply

can this charger be plugged into a 12v car socket to provide 15volt output? for a panasonic toughbook?

Asked by: fortuna
This charger is for use indoors in a standard 3 pin mains socket. It is not for use in a car. If you need a charger for use in a vehicle then this would be a more suitable unit. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/12v-in-carin-air-laptop-adapter-with-usb-socket-1a-with-6-charging-tips-a19jt
