I have 12v led strip lights (10m) under my kitchen wall units, can I use this to power them? Is it safe to add a 12v switch between this device and the lights? The cheap chinease one I've been using for 2 years just blew the plug apart! :(

Asked by: Rizla
It would depend on the current requirements for the LED strip. At 10m it is likely that you will require a much higher amperage than that supply provides, however what you will need will depend entirely on the full power specifications for the strip. Once you can establish the full power requirements of the strips a suitable power supply and switch may be possible.

Is it safe to use a device rated at a higher current than the power supply
Asked by: Alan
it is not recommended to use a supply which is below the current required as this could damage either the supply or the device.
