Rated 5 out of 5 by from JK09 -Panel Mount Power Socket (DC Jack) 2.1 mm - good solid build, perfect for powering DIY projects

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Although this is a very professional looking connector, I found that the connection was not reliable with any of the 2.1mm plugs I tried. The centre pin is nice and tight (it's a split design) but the diameter of the outer is just too big for a reliable contact.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Atrocious Tightly fitting connector but no voltage on the back. Ended up salvaging one from an 18 year old project which worked fine (and ironically probably came from Maplin).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dont know what the others are on about. the other reviewers have slated this socket, the one that i ordered has worked perfectly, was easy to install and is unobtrusive. Only criticism is that the securing thread, at 3mm long is a bit short for the project i'm building, but would be fine if it was going into a metal panel

Would this be compatible with a cross trainer as iv broken mine

Asked by: johny
It would depend on the power requirements of the socket. This component is rated at 90W so as long as the power of the trainer doesn't exceed that then this should be suitable if the correct size for the power supply.
