Rated 1 out of 5 by from I got this because of the price tag. I should have spent the extra like i have just done and got one that works. I plugged it in like you should and light comes on but nothing else happens. I HDD does not turn over and my computer did not read it as there. So i took it back and got the ( Probox ). This worked as soon as i plugged it in. Happy now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It Works I didn't really want this product, having read the poor reviews. As I was informed that the ProBox had been discontinued, I took a chance on this. I took it home, installed my laptop hard drive into the case, plugged it in to my desk top, and it revealed all the contents. I was also able to transfer a picture from my desk top on to it as a test. Only four stars because it does'nt have any instructions, so just trial and error. Very helpful staff member 5233 in Leeds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just bought this enclosure for a spare HDD from a laptop. Packaging looks ok but the case itself is so thin and poorly made. The drive caddy looks like it cost 3p to manufacture. I have no confidence in any long term use of this device.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Take a look at the drive your putting in first! If your drive is advanced format, AF on the label.. your going to need a smart caddy to be sure it will read it. So look for a USB 3.0 caddy not this USB 2.0 one. The few people that have left bad reviews will have had AF drives, hence the read issues. For the older drive types, this caddy is perfect.. cheap looking, but perfectly fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its a handy piece of kit It does what it says its just only problem is it doesn't come with instructions so you need to know what you are doing to use it. To the people who say it doesn't work it does, its just you didn't use it correctly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor As this is designed to fit a 2.5" this was not the case when I tried to insert my old laptop Hardrive in to it, very very poorly made and over priced. Computer did not read the drive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works but slight issue The enclosure works as advertised but there were 2 things to note: 1 - the back of the drive was difficult to fit into back end moulding - solved by shaking it rather more than I liked. 2 - the USB lead had 2 plugs at the computer end (to draw enough power), but the drive would not run with both plugged in. Solved by using only the plug on the thicker cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Does what it says on the tin. I dropped my laptop and the screen broke, so this enclosure was perfect for housing the HDD from the broken laptop, enabling easy transfer of data onto the new one.

Bought this as our HP Pavillion G6 won't boot, so am trying to retrieve data from its Toshiba MK3265GSX HDD2H83. No instructions and cable has two usb plugs on one end and one plug on the other, so which 2 of these 3 plugs should I use and which way?

Asked by: Simon
The single end of the plug will go into the enclosure and both the other end plugs will need to go into the computer for the enclosure as this will provide the required power as well as facilitate data transfer.
