Do you have a wiring diagram for the plug & socket applied a 12volt DC x 250ma circuit. I wish to use them as an intermediate connection to power an electronic cat flap to extend the power cable?  Many thanks

What is the length of the plug to use with this socket?  Maplin sells them in 9.5mm and 14mm long.

Asked by: abatonime
This item should work with the 9.5mm plugs.

I am fitting this socket to a guitar effects pedal to dispense with the battery i.e. use a remote power supply. I assume the red positive wire attaches to the centre pin but which of the other two contacts should I connect the black wire to?
Asked by: David Rollin
The answer given (either, they're both connected to the outer) isn't quite correct.  One is connected to the outer, the other is a break contact (open circuit when the plug is inserted).
