Rated 4 out of 5 by from Didn't Work For What I wanted It For I bought this to try and connect headphones and a microphone to my SatNav. It worked for the headphones but did not work for the microphone. I suspect that the product is only for audio, rather than being a fault with the product. I have no criticism of the product but wanted to caution others that it didn't handle a microphone feed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't Work For What I wanted It For I bought this to connect an external microphone to my SatNav. However, it did not work for me so I suspect that this item is only for carrying audio and not for microphone inputs. However, at this cheap price it was worth a gamble.

hi I will use this because I have an instrument pick up that annoyingly has a 2.5mm socket; I will use this to adapt so as the lead I have has a 3.5mm jackplug. DOES IT MATTER THIS IS STEREO? THE PICK UP / LEADS ARE MONO

(Ignoring the guarantee of compatibility) If I stick this on a headset used for Xbox1/PS4/PC and plug this into an Xbox360 controller, will I get chat sound and mic function? Does this adapter do that even when the majority of 3.5mm cables have 4 poles?

Asked by: The Guy Who Maplins
As this is not what it has been made to do and we do not test if our stock can do things it is not designed for we can only provide the same reply. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee full compatibility for this item.

Can you use this to adapt a mic input in a camera to 3.5mm ?  I want to use an external mic that has a 3.5mm cable - the camera takes a 2.5mm plug. Thanks

I have just bought a tablet and my old hifi headphones, which have two black bands running around the jack sound like they are underwater. My new in ear ones that have three red bands work fine. Is there an adaptor for this?

Asked by: Henry
On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative
