Product overview

• Dome tweeter for Hi-Fi use
• Used to replace or repair faulty music speakers
• Ideal choice when building your own speakers
• Mylar cone design
• 12W RMS, 25W Peak
• 2.75" diameter

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used in a rebuild of German version of the old Sonab Omnidirectional loudspeakers. I got these as they have a sensitivity of 84dB which matched that of the 5inch bass drivers. So, the sound is open and clean and suprisingly detailed for an off the peg replacement tweeter. Good for homebuilds!!

Is the capacitor acting as a high pass filter? If so please can you advise what the value of the capacitor is and at what frequency does it begin to filter? Can you also advise which is the positive and negative terminals as they are not marked.

Asked by: Graham P
The posted answer is wrong, the capacitor is in series with the tweeter meaning it is acting as a high pass filter, not a low pass filter. It does not 'filter anything above 20k' as stated above. The cap is 4.7uF, giving a crossover point of around 5.6kHz and a slope of 6dB/octave assuming 6ohm impedance.

are these tweeters ok to use with 6 ohm speakers?

Asked by: cooko
Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee full compatibility for this item in your intended application, as this would depend on the crossover in use.
